The Verdict

Last Thursday the judge made a ruling on The Little Mister's future. I haven't said too much about it because, to be very honest, it makes me sad. It's not the answer I wanted to hear. It's not how I planned it.

In the car, The Munchkin said to me, "So, Mom. What happened? What's happening with him? Is he going to live with his dad or what?" I hadn't said anything to the kids yet. I wasn't even sure how. I took a deep breath, and said, "Well, the judge said he's going to live with his dad. Not yet, but in a couple of months. Probably in the summer."  Just as I finished the sentence, the Handsome Man threw his head back on his seat and said in a very firm but disappointed voice, "Darn it. I really wanted to adopt him, Mom." All I could say was, "Me too, buddy. Me too."

While I've been sad the past few days over the decision, that moment has been the worst part. I know God has a plan. I know that God is in control. I'm sad, but I know He provides the grace and comfort I need. But seeing my little boy so sad. That's a different story. Trusting God to take care of His heart seems harder.  I've felt like foster care is our calling as parents, and to see it be difficult for my children is far worse than any hurt it causes my heart.  But then God reminded me tonight that He understands exactly how I feel. He saw His Son hurt too. His ways and His love are greater than I can ever understand. He has a plan for The Little Mister and for our family. A good plan. The best plan.

I love...

my pacis.

Actually, he loves to throw them out of his crib. Thankfully, he usually keeps at least one in there. :) Oh, how we've come to love this little guy.

Big Days Ahead **Update**

The Little Mister has some important days coming up. Tomorrow is the first. We will be meeting with three important people involved in his case. All of these people play a part in determining his future. (We, as foster parents, don't have much of a say. But these people are coming to meet with us, meet the Little Mister, and then make a formal recommendation to the judge.) They will all be present at big day #2--when the judge will make a decision regarding his future in court.  Big Day #2 is sometime next week.

We love the Little Mister. A lot. His future is in the hands of the judge and that seems scary. But we know that it's really in the hands of God. He loves him. He has a plan for his life. He is totally in control.

To be honest, I'm not sure how much I can really say on this blog about the Little Mister and his case. I know I'm being vague and I apologize for that. It's important that we protect the Little Mister and the privacy of his biological family. I know that many of you reading will pray for him. The Lord knows all the details. :)

**Thank you so much for those who prayed for us. The meetings went well. We felt that they were positive, even if we didn't hear news that we wanted to. We know that God is in control of it all. Big Day #2 is this coming Thursday. Please pray. A lot can happen in court (and on the flip side, little can happen in court).**

Some fun firsts

Life has been a bit crazy around here trying to keep the house clean. We had some showings of the house last week but only one so far this week. I don't have much extra time on my hands (not that I have all that much anyway) but here are a few things we did earlier this month...probably before I developed my obsessive house cleaning issues.

The Princess colored for the first time...

The Little Mister is learning to push walker toys and cruise...

We went to the playground for the first time in a really long time. Super long winter here.

The sun is shining today and the thermometer is reading 62 degrees. Since we actually saw snow falling from our sky yesterday, I'm hoping spring is really here--both the warm weather and the spring real estate market. :)
